About me

My name is Kelsey Grim. I took this class to learn how to take better quality pictures. Ive always liked taking pictures so I thought it would be a fun class to take and that it could really help me take better photos. I learned so much more then I thought I would. I learned how to use photoshop to edit pictures, how to tell the difference between good and bad pictures, and most importantly, how to manage my own camera.

Photo Assignment 7 - Still Life

For this assignment I took pictures of still life. I took lots of different pictures of random things in my house. I took a couple snow globes because i thought they were look really cool, and fruit, and other things.

I learned how to take pictures of still things. I learned how to take pictures of things that reflect back, like snow globes. I also learned how to make good backgrounds so it isn't too busy.

Tutorial

We were asked to find a tutorial for photoshop and create it. We were allowed to pick whatever we wanted, as long as we could finish it. We chose our own pictures to edit, and basically came up with our own assignment. I learned alot from my tutorial, like how to add rain to a picture. I thought the finished pictured looked very real and cool.

Photo Assignment 6 - People

For this assignment I took many different pictures. We basically just did a photo shoot and took alot of different pictures with different poses. We went to a few different places around the house. I took pictures of her acting like herself.

For this assignment I learned how to take photos of people. I tried to capture the personality of the person, and I think I really learned how to. I learned how to have good lighting outside, and I also cropped the picture to make it look better.

Dictionaries

For this assignment we had to choose words and define them. We then had to find 3 pictures that described the word. We had to fill up the page and make it look very neat and put together.

Puns

For this assignment we were told to come up with puns. We had to make 3 visual puns using photoshop. We put pictures in photoshop and used the tool to select, copy, and paste different parts of pictures that we could use.

Photo Assignment 5 - Landscape/Nature

For this assignment I took pictures of landscape and nature. I went to the beach and took lots of different pictures. I went outside around the middle of the day so I could mess with the lighting and make sure it came out looking good.

For this assignment I learned how to take pictures of nature. In my picture there were also a few poles that I removed in photoshop so I also learned how to do that. I took lots of pictures of the beach and pathways leading there.

Photo Assignment 4 - Black&White

This week I took Photos in black and white. I thought it would give a different view of things in just black and white instead of color. I tried to get a different perspective with no color.

I learned how to change the color on the camera to take a picture in black and white. I had a little difficulty with digital noise but I figured out how to fix it. I took lots of pictures of random things in black and white.

School Context Assignment

For this assignment we were told to take a picture of the school. We had to edit it, add things in to the picture, or at least make it look differently. I put many different disney characters into my picture. I learned how to add things to a photo and make it blend in better with the background.

Panoramas

For this assignment we took many pictures. For a panorama you have to take 3-4 different pictures moving a little bit each time. Each picture has to overlap a little bit so when you put the pictures on the computer it can match up. A panorama is a wide view so you can get a picture of the whole landscape. I learned how to do this for the first time and found it pretty easy.

Photo Assignment 3 - Macro

For this Assignment I chose to do macro. I thought it would be cool to get close up photos of different types of things like food and flowers. I also wanted to see if i could get photos with cool textures and coloring.

For this assignment I learned how to get real close to things and take pictures. I learned that macros doesn't work too well if you don't get very close. If you stay far away it won't take up the whole photo and it doesn't look as good.
